Support Retina Care Research and Education exists to improve care for patients with retina diseases, particularly, but not limited to, children, including premature infants. Funds are used to host educational conferences, support research projects, sponsor service trips abroad, and to purchase medical equipment for use in low-income countries. We have worked with the Children’s Eye Foundation, Stopping Infant Blindness in Africa (SIBA) and other organizations.

Support Retina Care Research and Education has hosted several international retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) conferences. Our most recent event was held in Chicago with attendees from the United States, Canada, Europe, East Asia, Latin America and India working together to share ideas for improving care.
Teaching conferences have been held in Vietnam, South Africa, and Uganda. These service projects involve working with local doctors in hands-on, skills transfer and didactic sessions.
