Fluorescein Angiography (FA)

Fluorescein angiography (FA) is a diagnostic tool which evaluates blood flow of the eye. It helps to diagnose diseases of retina, choroid, macula and optic nerve based on the patterns seen as dye fills the blood vessels of the interior surface of the eye. This test includes injection of a fluorescent dye into a vein of the arm or hand with concurrent fundus photography using a specialized camera system. The test usually takes ten to twenty minutes. The skin and urine color may be yellow, orange, or greenish for a few hours after FA. Age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy are examples of the many eye conditions that may be evaluated with this test.

Video Angiography

In addition to standard fluorescein angiography we are also able to perform video angiography which can assist in the diagnosis and management of retinal vascular disease.
